[Version 1.50J] En test sur Pendragon

Par Rollback le 15/5/2002 à 17:17:16 (#1467844)

==========================================
This update fixes a lot of the concerns and bugs that have cropped up over the past few months. It also introduces some needed new abilities. Lastly, this addresses many of the complaints we get from grey-con characters, and thusly we have further refined the 'attack with impunity' stance introduced in last patch.

Dark Age of Camelot

Test Version 1.50J Release Notes

=======================================

ATTACKING WITH IMPUNITY

As we mentioned in the last patch, we have removed the ability for assassins to attack with impunity (by fixing the 'bug' where the assassin could stay stealthed on a one-shot). We have over the past couple months removed the archers' ability to attack with impunity as well, with bladeturn and no crits on sitting targets, etc.

However, this has not solved the constant cry from characters in the frontiers getting killed by enemies to whom they con grey. As this is not fair to the vast numbers of people who are in fact 'grey' when they head to the frontier, we are also introducing the following new rules:

- Mages will no longer be able to cast spells on grey-con characters. They will only be able to engage the target with a staff. Furthermore, the staff will have an insta-rubber-sheath cast on it, so staff damage will be reduced by approximately 50%

- Tank classes will only be able to engage grey-cons with bare fists. Fists will have a DPS of 1.5. Damage will be calculated as if they have specced zero in the new but unavailable 'boxing' line; thus the damage variance will be huge

- Pet classes will have the following happen when they attack grey-cons. Druids' pets will morph into the "Mewling Tabby Cat". Enchanters' pets will turn into the "Magically Delicious Lucky Charm Guy". Theurgists' pets will turn into the "Gumby Simulcram" Other classes will have similar pet changes.

- Charm classes will have their charmed creatures, when sent to attack grey-cons, actually attempt to amuse and charm the target. The charmed creature will sing, juggle and tell jokes in an attempt to distract the grey con while not actually causing any damage

NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES

- We have discovered that the assassin classes are, in fact, an undocumented bug that we have allowed to remain in the game while we focus on spell and sound effects. This bug is now fixed. All current assassins will be converted to healers at a .5:1 level ratio, to give the player time to learn the class

- We have added a new trainable ability for ALL classes. This is the new Whimpering Pansy line. It will have four levels:

10: Minor Whine
.5% chance of Mythic paying attention to complaint
If successful: Long delay in response and action

22: Long Weep
2.5% chance of Mythic paying attention to complaint
If successful: Medium delay in response and action

34: Temper Tantrum
5% chance of Mythic paying attention to complaint
If successful: Short delay in response and action

46: Sobbing Hysteria
10% chance of Mythic paying attention to complaint
If successful: Almost immediate gratification

NOTE: This ability is Stackable by same classes (within a two-week period), so two successful Temper Tantrums by, say, mages will stack and be a 10% chance.

Players who now spec in the Whimpering Pansy ability can use this ability to affect other classes that they, through their own inability, can't handle.

OBJECT & WORLD CHANGES

Hibernia

- Large spinning windmills, gigantic plastic dinosaurs, evil clown faces and huge candy canes have been added. Small holes in the ground, approximately the size of a large gem, have been placed nearby.

Midgard

- Has been made whiter

Albion

- All bricks and stones now have individual details. Each character in Albion has his name etched in calligraphic script to the paved stones in Camelot City.
