DAoC-Europe

(mais apres plusieurs essais j'arrive a me connecter.)

Hello ladies and gentlemen

Six month ago, the European DAoC adventure began. Right from the start we followed the choice to focus on the community, as it fitted our vision of the game.
The forums have been for a long time our favourite way to communicate with you. Just like the game and the servers, the forums evolved all alone those last six months, starting by being public, then becoming "players only" with the official release.

With the forums, we had many goals:

For the community, the forums were a place to meet, to talk freely about many topics, to build the social life of their characters or just share some hints with others.

For us, it was a way to communicate with you, to keep you informed about our projects, about what was going on behind the curtain and of course keep an eye on your wishes in order to "drive" the game the way you wanted.

After some months of activity and some changes, we are no longer satisfied with the forums and what they mean to you and to us. The forums are they are now will close at the end of April. We advice all of you to save the writings you like before then, if you wish to do so.

Why closing the forums?

First, we are not satisfied with the way to roleplay forums are. We know that the cohabitation of many players is hard and that being the "official forums" is not be the best way to help a "roleplaying" community to develop.

About the feedback; these forums are not the best support for this kind of contribution. Because they are "official forums", the interesting posts are too often drowned in an ocean of uninteresting and incomplete posts, incorrect comments, making them useless.
All the problems a player may encounter in the game or outside the game will find a better and faster resolution if addressed to the Customer Support or by browsing our FAQs. Never hesitate to use them; important efforts are done every day to improve them constantly, to reduce the delay of the answers as well as increasing their quality.

Regarding the "informative" role the forums hold, bravely, until now; we are working on a news tool for the official website, all the official information we used to post on the forums will now be posted on the homepage. Specific news per server and realm will follow.

We know that nothing can compete with a direct contact with players and we will also keep a close eye on the various DaoC fansite forums in order to learn about your wishes and your motivations. If needed, we may use these boards to share our views about some particular topics.

On top of all these reasons, we wish to focus all our efforts on the official website, the servers, the events and the support in order to give you, the players, the service of quality that you deserve.

The forums will not disappear completely since we will keep private forums for the volunteers at first and, with the possible opening of a test server for players, private forums for the testers.

We wish to thank those of you who brought life to these forums, by your messages, your determination to make of these forums a place to come and enjoy, which was not an easy task. A special thanks to the moderators, for your frankness and your efficiency during the last months.

Good hunting everyone, happy playing!

The European DAoC team.
