The independent European test phase is starting today

Kaarst, November 5, 2001 – A ccording to an announcement of SWING! Entertainment Media AG, today will start the third phase of beta testing in the course of the Shadowbane development.

This means that from now on the focus is more on the integration of services especially designed and developed for the European market.

„With this important step we are not only approaching completion but also our goal to give a home to the European player community for the first time,“ says Marco Hüsges, President of SWING! Entertainment Media AG. „In opposition to all previous online RPGs forcing players around the world to play on American servers and turn to American customer services, in Shadowbane no European will have to change the continent, in fact he will be able to play entirely on European servers. This enables a completely new group experience. Furthermore SWING! is going to offer a multilingual customer service granting full support also to players with little command of foreign languages.“

In this context the third phase of beta testing is mainly aiming to test server stability. Starting off with ca. 200 testers in this non official phase of testing, different stress situations are simulated in order to face the danger of slowdowns and crashes. By the end of the test phase around late December 2001, SWING! will have increased the tester contingent to ca. 2000 participants.

„With these substantial testing phases, we want to make sure that bugs like players have encountered them in many other online RPGs are avoided in Shadowbane right from the beginning,“ says Marc Braun, Shadowbane Project Manager of SWING! Entertainment Media AG. „A player entering the virtual world of Shadowbane does not want to experience constant setbacks because of software or technological deficiencies, he wants to get excited about the atmosphere and the game itself. This is exactly what we will be able to offer the player community at the release of Shadowbane.“

Malheureusement je n'ai pas assez de temps pour m'en occuper, et comme tu le soulignes il est grand temps qu'un nouveau site prenne la suite de l'ancien qui n'avait pour but a l'origine que d'être un bulletin d'information. Raison pour laquelle j'ai décidé de mettre fin à ma coopération avec Jeux Online.

J'espère que des volontaires prendront la suite. Une interface graphique est déjà toute prête si ca tente quelqu'un...

Si vous avez du temps et que ca vous passionne, n'hésitez pas c'est une expérience très enrichissante

N'oublies pas que la BETA 3 tombe sous le NDA, et que tu n'auras pas le droit de publier autre chose que ce que Swing te permettra...
Je peux fournir une petite aide (toute petite, pas pour la partie info en tout cas, suis une burne ;)), n'hesite pas si tu es pret à t'investir pleinement!
