Hello here are my questions,

- Will prices of goods differ between towns?

- If answer to above is yes, will players be able to embark in town to town trading using wagons, caravans, or other types of larger transports?

- How significant are school-awarded special abilities? What I am getting at is would the school awarded special abilities make a character that is in..say..a healing school significantly better at healing than an identical character who just left the school?

- Will players from each adventuring school have a unique and desirable role to fill in group combat?

- Will players be able to change the world with trade skills other then building construction? Will trees become stumps for a while, will mines grow in size as miners mine deeper into the rock? ect...

- Will the frontier surround the starting world or will it be situated on a single side?

- Would you say that combat effectiveness is based mostly on a character's gear, character's skills, or player's skill? Can you say approximately what percentages of each AE is aiming for?

Par Hecateus le 10/10/2002 à 5:49:58 (#2308677)

Hiya Steve,

Will there be a flight model for flying races, such as Dragons, which is comparable to those in flight sim games?

Thank you.

Hello ;)

- How do good, neutral and evil races differ in gameplay?

- Are there evil schools like assassins?

- Are there any plans to support pure Tradesman (not crafter.. chars that just buy wares in one town and sell em in another town)? Sounds kinda hard in a world with portals.

- Is there still something planned to support both powergamer AND casual-gamer? The old Horizons had Age to prevent powergamer from getting too good too fast. With low downtimes (gamesdomain - interview) powergamer will be able to become really good very fast!?!

- Can you tell something about your guild-system?

- Can you tell us about crafting? What happens when I fail? Will
there be 'accidents' like explosions when I fail making a potion?

- Are there formulars for structures? Could I travel to an elf-town, study their buildings, and then build elven-buildings in a player-town?

And some 'Will you have - questions' ;)

- Is poison ingame? And what about Psi? And Animal Taming?

- Are there mounts? Or flying mashines? (Maybe some gnome-mashines?)

- Are there 'not-so-good-looking' struktures for races like goblins? Like tents or huts?

First of all, thanks to come on owr forum of Horizons french community.
Welcome in France! Did you ever come in France in real life?
Let's start with questions about owr so expected game:

Can Angels wear hoods?
Will social emote be different for each race?
Will Angels be able to fly, even shortly?
Does the Ku'tan Guard still exist?
Will mini-games be included in Horizons?
Tell us about what are Werewolf in Horizons: will they be able to change themself every time they want? Just during the night? Just during the full moon night? (I know you wont talk about not implemented races but...)
Does the politic field be playable in Horizons, and if yes, how?
Can players create a new city, or just little structure in existing place?
And if they can build cities, could they elected a bourgmaster and choose which structure to build in their city, hire guards etc?
Which race are you developping now, and which will be the next?
What is the floating place we can see in the trailer?( Name, history etc...)
Can we see the new map of Istaria?

I think it's enough for now.
Au revoir.

Bon jour!

I just wanted to stop by and let everyone know that I am looking forward to answering your questions this weekend. If you have not been a part of any of my previous Q&A sessions, let me share with you how things generally go. I answer my questions offline typically so I can make sure I provide you with accurate answers, as well as accurate spelling! ;) Also, I might end up selecting only a portion of your questions to answer; I do this because I want to make sure that I have the chance to answer as many questions as I can from everyone. Finally, I answer questions kinda slowly sometimes. I usually end up double or triple checking things for mistakes. I think I am getting faster (practice makes perfect), but please do not be disheartened if I go slowly.

Anyway, keep the questions coming! If I don't get a chance to answer every question this time, I will save questions for future Q&A sessions here. Thank you very much for your interest in Horizons!

-If we got a sword in our back, what will happen when we will sit down?
-Wizard will be able to carry their wand in their back?

-Will we be able to climb on trees, wall or mountains?
-Can we be the owner of shops (like taverns) ?
-You've talked about weather, but will there be any incidence on clothes (wet skirts, muddy shoes) ?
-You've also talked about assassination, does it mean player will be able to kill an other one?

-Which type of craftsman's trade a dragon is able to do?
-Will a dragon be able to walk through a forest?
-Will there be game master in game (playing important role like a king) and will they do something else than the classic tresor hunting or monster killing?

-Do the Ku'tan Guard still exist, and can all races be a member?

Hi Shawn !

Some more question (you didn't plan to sleep this weekend did you ? ;) ) :

Nethaneel
- Have you add any other playable race ?
- Can we see or build subterranean town or structure ?
- For craft skills, are there specific animations (smithing, fletching, armorcrafting, ...)
- If two wizards a fire specialists, do they cast exactly the same spells ?
- If you worship a god, does that affect your death recovery ?

And another one :
- You said that there won't be any item degradation. If it's still true, how will new craftmen will be able to sell low level items ? I think that the world will quickly be full of "copper daggers" and since we don't lose items, beginning craftmen will have a hard life.

Par Dungeoneer le 12/10/2002 à 22:48:02 (#2325184)

Hi Shawn!

- Will players be able to wear a robe over armor? or something like a Coat-Of-Arms (with a 'decal', it would be even nicer) ?

- One of the Humans in the Trailers has a quiver (great!). Does it display the correct number of missiles ? (ok, that would be a little much, but i am curious)

- Will the cloth engine be used to animate hair ?

thank you in advance :p

The first batch of answers!

Vampires were set aside, as for lizardmans and insectmans. Do we have a chance to see them in the final version?

I think there is a chance that the races that were dreamed up in the old wish-list documentation from a couple years back might find a home in the current design that we have been developing and executing. That being said, however, it is important to note that some races have a much greater chance than others. Each race has inherent strengths and weaknesses when attempting to bring them into our current design plans, and some of those weakness are very strong reasons not to include them. David Bowman (Co-President and Creative Director of Artifact Entertainment) listed a set of races a while back during an interview that we at Artifact were working on and considering. If a race was on that list, then we’re interested as a whole on getting them into the product. Something else to consider is that there are also personal preferences amongst us working on the game that will influence where our attention is focused. Personally, I am very interested in seeing the Saris and the Ssslik making it over (though if I have my say, the Ssslik might lose an extra “S” or two from their name on the way in). Time will tell, though, if that happens the exact way I’d like it to.

My personal preferences are just that – mine. Please bear that in mind. The races that we announce as “in” for the future will be those ones that are player accessible and ones that are fully animated and ready to go.

Provient du message de Bunder Black & Drake
Can we change the environnments?(ex: a fireball burning a tree)

Players will definitely be able to affect the environment in a number of ways like you mention, though we might specifically not choose to let you scorch every tree we have in the game. If you chop down a Cedar tree for its resources, however, the tree will be removed from the environment. Also, players will be clearing out land in the Frontier for player settlement; that in its self is a strong example of players changing the environment.

Provient du message de Bunder Black & Drake
Will there be naturals cataclysm?(Tempest,Tornado,Magma)

Weather will play a definite role in the feel of an environment, so cataclysms like the ones you mention will really help shape certain game experiences. We have the technology, for example, to “turn on” a dormant volcano that permanently changes the environment. That volcano might also open up a previously unknown cave network that players can now explore. Things like this, though, I think are best utilized by our staff that will help manage the dynamic execution of the game after release.

Provient du message de Kartaj & Mélancoli
Is there any drawback for playing a Dragon ?

Playing a Dragon will be a much different experience than playing the other races in Horizons. That being said, Dragons will have advantages and disadvantages when compared to the other races that will be in Horizons when it is released. It is sort of like comparing apples to oranges in that respect, though; while both are fruit, they really aren’t all that similar beyond that. Thinking about it some, I think the biggest potential drawback in playing a Dragon is that the learning curve to master the strengths of the race might be steeper than what some people are used to. Some players might also consider it a drawback that the cooler things about being a Dragon really don’t come into play until a while after you start playing one. Time will really tell on that though, and we’re looking forward to testing it out in Beta.

As far as trade skills go (leading to your next question!), there will be fewer traditional trade skill options for Dragons. Dragons won’t be using armor and weapons, and their trade skills will be focused on things for them. I guess you could consider that a “drawback”, if you really forced the issue on comparison again. I don’t, however, because Dragon trade skills should be very cool regardless.

Provient du message de Kartaj & Mélancoli
Can you give some example of specific Dragon trade skills ?

While I am not able at this time to give out information on specific Dragon trade skills, I can share with you some of the concepts behind what Dragon trade skills will be like. The big one that I have mentioned in interviews past is the concept that Dragons use magic as their main tool for crafting, much like the other races use physical items as their tools for crafting. This content direction will help us to give Dragons trade skills and abilities that we wouldn’t think about giving to the other races. For example, gemstones in Horizons will have special properties associated with them. Tradespeople will be able to use certain gems in their creations (with sufficient enough skill) to add specific properties to their items. Dragons could take this a step further, using their innate magical knowledge and skill to shape and empower gems in ways the other races couldn’t. The know more than any other race that the relationship between the land and magic is one that very tightly knit, and the “products of the land” will reflect this relationship. Dragons might also be able to use gems directly for their personal benefit in ways the other races might not be able to. Some of the Dragon trade skills would probably help define this for them.

This is just a guess, though. Yep. Just a guess. Really.

Provient du message de Kartaj & Mélancoli
Can a Dragon player be a mount for another player ? If so, how will both players manage it? Can we fight on a mount back (with swords, bows or magic)?

(I combined your two questions into a single one here because I thought they were closely related.)

This question is a little out of my department, so there might be a more accurate answer out there already. Sorry in advance, but the people I should be asking this to are not here this weekend! The slackers!

The coolness of something like this is not lost on us, believe me. Once we nail down the technical aspects and the game-play aspects of mounts, we will apply it to the concept of someone riding a Dragon. Much like you mention in your question, both players will need to manage this together; I seriously doubt that anyone could simply run up to a Dragon player and jump on their back without the Dragon’s consent. With that said, aerial combat will be tied in with this. If we let a player ride on a another player’s back who happens to be a race that allows flight and someone riding them, then combat to some degree will play a part in what they can do while in the air. I don’t think, however, that we are going to let a Human player jump on the back of another Human player that has some sort of flight spell active and let them fly around together shooting things out of the sky. That’s just another guess though. ;)

- how are you today??

According to the Google language translator, I am “tres bien”! It is times like this, though, that I wish I had studied a different language than Latin in high school and college (and I studied Latin for six years, at that). It would have been very cool to have been able to read and reply to everyone’s questions here on Jeux Online in French.

Provient du message de Salhem
- what about music in game, when can we listen the general theme of Horizons???

Folks are starting to get a taste of the music in our game from the trailers. The music you hear in the trailers that we have released have been from our talented audio department. Todd Jones and Mike Peters have been working hard in making a ton of cool sounds and musical pieces for our game. The music I have heard to date is the kind of music that will really help define and set the mood for the kind of game we are making. The trailers we release in the future will no doubt feature this important aspect of the game.

Provient du message de Salhem
- do u considerate the possibility of the french server, when i says french serveur, i think a serveur with all aspect translate in french.

This is again out of my department as a game designer, but I’ll take my best guess at it. I know that we are talking with folks in Europe to provide localized support for Horizons, amongst other things. While I have no idea what exactly this support might entail, I would assume part of it would be translated content. I don’t know if that would mean a purely French server, or if content would just be translated for the users. Those are the decisions that our European partners would help us make once those relationships are finalized. The concept of localized servers certainly warrants enough attention that it would be addressed in the future once that happens.

Provient du message de Salhem
- Do you considerate Horizons has a social game??

I think Horizons will have a very significant social element associated with it once players get into it. I know that as a designer I am dedicating time and resources to this very aspect. It goes hand in hand with this kind of product to ensure that a wide selection of players with different gaming styles have something for them in the product. In trade skills, for example, there will be a slew of items that will have significant social worth that aren’t necessarily quantified by a statistic increase. There are even specific slots for players, like a Sash slot for example, that we are planning on utilizing so they may identify themselves visually with a social bent in mind. Your guild could have a defined sash style that only you and your fellow guild members could wear.

Provient du message de Salhem
- Will reward you the persons who interest more has the history that monster killed or to make of object ?

We fully intend to reward players for exploring the story aspects of Horizons. Not only will the story play a direct role on the feel of the game and the experiences each player will get out of it, but we will also be creating assets purely dedicated to story advancement. I have no doubt in my mind that we will be able to create certain quests in Horizons that give those players who follow the story and history of Istaria an advantage over those that don’t. It is our design intent never to punish someone for choosing to play the game in their own way, but to offer different kinds of rewards that cover the various different ways people play.

Provient du message de Algeron
- Will prices of goods differ between towns?

Prices might vary somewhat based on the relationship between the location of the source and the location of the vendor, but this is something that would be tied into more of a commodities brokerage system. Players in Horizons will be buying items either directly from other players, from player-controlled vendors, or from our vendors on a commission-style basis. Prices concerning these factors shouldn’t vary based on location, seeing as though the players themselves are setting the prices. As for a brokerage system, where we keep track of supply and demand over a certain series of items and resources just like a commodities brokerage might, that is where location might play a role. If mithril ore is rarer in one part of the world than in another and the buy/sell location is what we determine to be a significant factor in pricing based on this, it will be reflected in the cost.

Provient du message de Algeron
- If answer to above is yes, will players be able to embark in town to town trading using wagons, caravans, or other types of transports?

Players will probably be doing this kind of thing regardless. We are working very hard to ensure that if there are wagons, caravans, etc. in the game, then the players have the ability to control them. Tradespeople focused on gathering resources from the world will no doubt get a great deal of use out of this, I think. Not only that, but we are working on making sure the quest system ties in to this kind of thing. It is certainly possible for someone to get a mission or task to defend a caravan from attack, only to discover that the caravan itself is owned and operated by another player. Our technology we are using is pretty amazing in this respect, and ever day I learn something new we can do with it content-wise that I had otherwise thought we couldn’t do.

Provient du message de Algeron
- How significant are school-awarded special abilities? What I am getting at is would the school awarded special abilities make a character that is in.. say.. a healing school significantly better at healing than an identical character who just left the school?

There will be certain special abilities granted to members of various schools that will only be with the character so long as they are a part of that school. So, with that being said, school-awarded special abilities will be a significant way we help shape and identify school membership. It is important to note, however, that the skills a player has will really define their basic functionality overall more so than special abilities via school membership will. This isn’t to say that special abilities will be trivial – far from it, actually. Let me define this better using a slightly adjusted example. Someone in the Warrior school and someone who isn’t but has the exact same skill rank in Two-Handed Weapons as the Warrior does will function identically to one another when swinging a claymore about. The Warrior, however, is going to have a few more tricks up their sleeve in combat when it comes to the traditional roles of what a Warrior does than the other person, and some of these will be reflected in the available special abilities they have. I hope that makes things clearer.

Bienvenue,

* Are all special abilities granted by a given school initially available upon entry or do they become available as you rise through that school's ranks.

* Are there some graphics relates features such as bump mapping and pixel shadding that are not yet implement but in the plans?

* What facilities do you plan to establish to facilitate player to player trade? Will there be in-game trading boards?

* Will NPCs purchase goods from player-controlled vendors as well as other players? If so, will there be options and skills available to players to influence NPC customers such as advertising?

* Will NPCs available for hire have differing skills and costs? For example: One hirable NPC vendor could have a higher charisma (attracts more customers) another is better at fast talking (sells for higher prices), yet another isnt very good but is much cheaper to hire.

Hi Shawn !

First of all, thank you very much for your first answers ! We're very happy to see that the french speaking community may have a little role to play in HZ building ;). Maybe one question or idea will be in the final HZ :ange:

- For social interactions, do you plan some social activities (music playing, singing, some little games - darts, cards, dice or anything else) which could be used in a player-runned tavern
- What is the height of the "above ground world" ? Will the Dragons be able to fly as high as they want to ?
- How long (in real time) will be an in game day ?
- Will walking / running speed change according to the race ? For instance a Dragon may fly faster than a running human, a horse must be faster than a zombie,...

That's all for now. ;)

I got another question... I was translating the FAQ today and wondered about that part:

Players can teleport to their home towns at any time, ...

Does that mean, when my bag is full after fighting monsters for 2 hours, I just click a button and 'blopp' - I'm home?
Or when I'm fighting a monster and may die, I just click a button and get beamed home?

The 'not too much realism' concept is ok, but that seems a little too... easy!

and others questions again !!!

How do you considerate the posibility of players and/or community affect the storyline (the scenary is very strict, or the player/community reaction change it?)??

Can I build dungeon with my skill (create trap, build a mine, catch a goblin and close him in a room..) , and offer other player the posibility to play with it)?

When i will be the most powerfull dragon of istaria :D, I would like fly in the sky. Can I fly during more than 1 hours?? Can i do looping, can I fight in the sky, can I do all the same thing with the ground. Explain your posibility please.

I'm a fan of historic anecdote. If players write for you little story, or write a little quest with a good story, do you insert in your game??

more next time

Hello Shawn !

Happy to see you back here !

A little question :
- We can build structures on our property : house, shop, etc. But is it possible to build the same structure two or three times ? For example, can I build two shops, on selling to everybody and the other to my guild ?
Or can I manage this situation with only one shop defining different rules depending on the character who wants to buy something ? Using the same example, if the character is member of my guild, my NPC employee sells this wonderful sword 1 gold, and it's 10 gold for other characters...

Hi Shawn! Good to see you better!(Even if i don't understand what is a gall bladder)

I know my question will sound stupid too you but...

-Can we have greatest forfeits of many classes on one class?(Powerful Magic From The Sorcerer,Take Heavy Armor and weapons and Powerful Strength from the warrior?)

Just wanted to give you a heads up on the status of the Q&A session. I forgot that this weekend I had made plans from a couple months ago to go out of town on some personal business (going to the hospital and having surgery done really threw me for a loop schedule-wise). I've copied down the next batch of questions and began to work on them now, rather than this weekend. I'll work on them on the laptop over the weekend, and post a big batch of answers when I get back into town on Sunday. The answers should cover the first pass through the current list.

If you think of more questions, please add them to this list! Thanks as always for your interest in Horizons!

Par Kartaj le 23/10/2002 à 13:21:05 (#2389196)

It's kind enough to come here to answer our questions, we understand that you have a life beyond Horizons ! ;) Hmmm thinking about it, I'm not sure anymore :D

For the "more questions" point :
- In his last diary, David Bowman said that players will be able to change the laws of a community. Can you give some details, please ? Can we create brand new laws, based on which parameters ?...

- If the structures I have on my plot don't please me anymore, can I destroy them to build new ones ?

Thanks for the time you take to speak with us !

How often will events run (roughly) ?

More like one big event a week or small events everyday (like some speaches on some public places)

Will there be volunteers applications to help the event team ?

same question as him i'm pretty curious about the way you'll deal with events.
i come from daoc and next game i really want to play a mmoRPG (capital letters are here for a good reason...)

another question for you shawn ;-)

I have never seen sea in any screenshoot. Do you considerate Horizons without navigation, boat, or naval battle??

can we see your possibility of static water, or sea. The technologies, today, allows fantastic posibility in this domain. Artifact with Horizons get ready has a graphic challenge, no?? So let we see what's you have ;-).

Ok, I made my way through all this French to register and ask this one question: Will it be possible to become a tamer or a farmer or something like this?
I'm waiting so long to have something with a localized server and the possibility to become what I loved to do in Ultima ... so please I beg you! :sanglote:

Hey, I got one more question (again).

Paul Tanganelli mentioned in his interview that you could see other players and NPCs and monsters on the map.

Do you only see them when they're in your sight or is the map like a radar-map showing all creatures in the world? (I hope not *smiles*)

Hello once more!

Will there be a flight model for flying races, such as Dragons, which is comparable to those in flight sim games?

Yes, there will be a flight model associated with the Dragons when they take wing. I’m not exactly sure on how comparable Dragon flight will be to flight simulation games, but Dragons will have definite Z-axis capabilities. We also are working hard on allowing for Dragons to have a range of flight options once airborne; we will be giving out more details on this as we approach the time we roll out detailed Dragon information.

How do good, neutral and evil races differ in game-play?

The story and theme of Horizons isn’t about races being representation of good and evil paragons; the races represent more of a “grayscale” in respect to moral ethos. While the Humans might consider the Fiends “evil” and thus their exile from Human society during the Age of the Sorcerer, the Fiends would most likely consider the Humans evil based on their own moral code. There certainly things in the history of the Humans that we might consider being of questionable moral fiber based on our own moral codes. We’re shaping the races in Horizons to be as rich and as detailed in history and background as possible, and more often than not this will mean that there won’t be clear cut good, neutral, or evil races.

With that being said, game-play of the races is going to be shaped by the histories and backgrounds that we provide for them. Our game is a fantasy game, and that means that we will invariably be drawing inspiration from the standard feel of a typical fantasy world (as typical as a fantastic world of magic and monsters can be). Our vision for that kind of world in Horizons will have what I think will be a unique and appealing feel. We’ve already laid down some tentative racial advantages for each race based in a large part on their history and background in the world. While there will be differing bonuses based on race, it is not our intent to instill player regret in what they choose, so the difference in game-play will naturally reflect this design intent.

Are there formulas for structures? Could I travel to an elf-town, study their buildings, and then build Elven-buildings in a player-town?

Structure building in Horizons is going to differ somewhat from standard trade skills. Players will be constructing buildings based on the property owner’s specifications rather than their own, like how typical trade skills function. If a community allows for Elven-based structures to be built on it, the property owner will make those decisions and the tradespeople who focus on structure building will apply their skill to the construction. The more skill rank a tradesperson has in structure building skills (Carpentry, Masonry, and Joining are what we have planned thus far), the more advanced structures the tradesperson will be able to contribute to in construction or simply outright build. As for your example though, that is possibly something we could accomplish as a quest; I could easily see an apprentice Carpenter traveling the world to study structures for their school master, gaining experience in the process. The flow of that, however, is just a little different than what I think your question alludes to. Still, structure building (and property in general) is going to be a very exciting part of Horizons.

Is poison in game? And what about Psi? And Animal Taming?

Poison – I’m discussing this with Paul Peterson, one of my cohorts in design at Artifact Entertainment. Paul is handling the Adventure Schools, and something like Poison fits well into those skill sets. Still, it makes for an interesting trade skill if we can pull it off properly. So for now, we’re in the development stage for it currently, with plans to ideally get something great in place for it by release, if not Beta.

Psionics – I don’t anticipate any sort of development done with the label of “psionics” on it for the game by release, though I wouldn’t ever rule out that we might decide to do something for Horizons concerning this down the road some.

Animal Taming – We’re calling this Animal Handling in our game, and not only will it allow the taming of certain wild animals, you will also be able to domesticate animals to use as renewable sources of resources. You should even potentially be able to breed animals if your Animal Handling skill rank is high enough. This skill is already in place in the game, and will be fleshed out as we progress through Alpha and Beta.

Does the Ku'tan Guard still exist?

The background attached to the old design documentation from a couple years back and the new production work that we have achieved through Alpha are two completely different things. Basically, there might be a couple names from old to new that are similar, but the story is simply not the same. In striving to redo Horizons in a more upfront and realistic manner, we felt that the story should be something that encouraged players to get involved in it and want to be a part of the world’s development through their own actions, rather than relying on the “deus ex machina” of GMs or other forced plot devices cramming story down a player’s throat without them having the real chance of getting into it. As a result, we decided to approach the story from a new perspective, and I think that what we are developing will make for a much better game all around. It will definitely be one that encourages player participation at the very least, if not being driven by player actions across the board. So, the short answer is no Ku’tan Guard or anything of that nature.

Will mini-games be included in Horizons?

Yes, there will be some pretty cool mini-games in Horizons. We are developing these games in conjunction with our development of the other aspects of the game (adventuring, quests, trade skills, etc.) so that they feel like a part of the world rather than a simple add-on game. Mini-games in Horizons will very much be a part of the world in not only their game-play, but also in their background. We’ll be introducing these things probably around Beta, though I am not 100% sure on the time schedule for them. I know that we want to make sure the nuts and bolts of the game are up to speed, obviously, before we begin mini-game implementation.

Provient du message de Nethaneel
Can we see the new map of Istaria?

The map of Istaria we are using as we populate the game world with cool things and places is fairly identical to the old map. The layout of the cities is considerably different, as well as other important landmarks, but the general geographic shape is about the same. That was one thing, when making the switch to the current version of Horizons, that we thought we had a good enough of a foundation with to begin working on. If it isn’t broken, we’re not going to try to fix it; instead, we’ll always look to improve it. It should be noted, however, that the world is not limited to Aradoth, the continent island that people associate with Istaria.

As for releasing a map, I’ll check with David Bowman on when that might be and I’ll report on it later. I can pretty much tell you now that a full map won’t be released to the public until we lay down the bulk of the basic content and structures for the various regions.

How does the armour will be fragmented?

There will be plenty of slots for various pieces of armor in Horizons. We’re looking at providing as many slots for players to dress their characters up with, including some slots dedicated purely to social-type garb. One such slot is going to be a sash slot, where the player can wear a special sash that might identify the guild they are in, or perhaps the recipient of a special award via a quest. We want players to be able to trick themselves out with lots of cool things, but not so many that players are overwhelmed with the sheer number of them. Right now we are definitely looking at over twenty different slots for players to put things in; that number will be locked down the closer to the end of Alpha. Also, most of these slots are going to be visible in nature; very few slots that you put things on your character won’t be displayed on him or her.

Provient du message de Henki Malagen
How many type of armour will we be able to have?

We’re going to have a ton of armor choices for players. I’ve finished creating the standard sets of armor for players to make, and we’re working on expanding the armor choices players will have. Ideally by release, players will never want for variety and selection, and we will be committed to continually expanding the options available to them.

For the standard types of armor, I broke the trade skills associated with them into two separate categories. First, Armorcraft is the skill associated with making metal armors. You’ll find basic armor types of Ring, Chain, Scale, and Plate Armor associated with that skill. Second, Tailoring is the skill associated with making armor from organic sources, like hides and fabrics. Cloth and Padded armor represent basic cloth choices, while Hide and Leather Armor cover those armors made from hides (both from animals and from some other non-typical sources). We are also planning on having armor that requires the use of multiple skills to work, such as Studded Leathers and Banded Armors. We’re still developing those, but they are very much on schedule for inclusion.

-What is the currency? Gold coins?
-Are all available hair colors available at character creation or are there some colors that cost a lot or are 'rare'?
-Why are there no current pics of dragons? :doute:
-What about dragons' plots? What types can they own, and what types of structures can they build?

Hi Shawn :)
I wish i didn't react too late ;)

So here are my questions :

- About Gods :
. I would like to know if I can be a a religious vowed to a god ?
. Can I create a new cult ?
. If I can create a new cult with a band of other players, can I build a temple to my god ?
. Will the existing gods be a real part of our everyday life or only be distant from the characters ?

- About Quests :
. Can quests have different happenings ?
. Can another player help me to resolve a quest (by making an object or anything else) ?

Nice to you see you're back ;)

Hi, I'm glad to see you are well, and back to answer us ^_^ :

I wonder if in Horizons, we can see Ring and Amulet on character.
In all the games that exist we can't see those items, but it can be enjoyable and good for role play do show them. So can I, in Horizons, see my precious Amulet around my neck? Or my ring on my finger?

Does Ikeria still exist? If you answer "yes" that mean Angels still exist ^_^

IS the world still so big as you said few years ago? I mean something like 4 hours to cross it if I run all the time.

Still underground city (like dwarf ones)?

I got no more questions ... for the moment :D

This thread is done... till next time.

I'll collect the remaining answers for an interview I'll send to AE.

I'd like to thank you all (french speaking visitors or not ;) ) for your participation.
